The Bismarck State College Alumni Exhibition is on display in Gannon Gallery at the BSC Library through Oct. 25. Reception for the artists is Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. in gallery.
Twenty-two alumni submitted a variety of media for the BSC National Alumni Association's third art show, the first of several featured events leading up to BSC's 75th Year Celebration in 2014.
Exhibitors include Frank Koch, '62, wood sculpture; Tama Smith, '77, stoneware; Susan Gerenz, '76, jewelry; and Tempe O'Kun, '06, book framed in shadowbox with poster.
Artists working in oil paint are Julie Lawhead, '95, Tom Marple, '88, Kathleen Fettig, '89, and Shannon Wirrenga, '88. Kayla Sorby, '13, has pieces in graphite pencil. Barbara Nechiporenko, '83, and Melissa Kivisto-Gordon, '93, are showing pastels.
Michelle Lindblom, '84, has monotypes, and Deb Emerson, '05, acrylic collage. Other acrylic paintings are by Jenna Jacobson, '05, Tyler Huber, '10, and Alexandra Pilgrim, '02, acrylic/mixed media. Dustin Randall, '02, is displaying watercolors.
Exhibiting photography are Mike LaLonde, '62, Sam Coleman, '99, Gloria Reiss, '86, Rita Nodland, '76 and '05, photo collage, and Shane Balkowitsch, '99, wet plate collodion photography, black glass ambrotype.
