Students involved in "Figments of Imagination" literary journal at Bismarck State College have planned a roast of North Dakota Lt. Gov. Drew Wrigley to raise money for the journal.
Festivities with named and surprise guests are Thursday, March 6, in BSC's National Energy Center of Excellence. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. with the roast at 7 p.m. in the Bavendick Stateroom.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at bismarckstate.edu (roast link), by phone at 701-224-5453, or at the BSC Bookstore in the Student Union.
Scheduled to appear are Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem, Public Service Commissioner Julie Fedorchak, and former Lt. Gov. Wayne Sanstead, journalist Dale Wetzel, Bismarck-Mandan Symphony conductor Beverly Everett, special guest Kathleen Wrigley, and other distinguished guests. Clay Jenkinson, BSC distinguished humanities scholar, serves as master of ceremonies.
Wrigley was North Dakota's U.S. attorney from 2001-09 and deputy chief of staff for then Gov. John Hoeven in 2000-01. He was appointed 37th lieutenant governor by Jack Dalrymple in 2010 and won his first full term in 2012.
Proceeds from the roast go toward publishing "Figments of Imagination," which contains student writing, photography and original artwork. The journal is compiled, designed, edited and promoted by students in the Literary Publications class.
