Students in the Graphic Design and Communications program at Bismarck State College display their work April 28-May 1 at Kirkwood Mall.
The 44th annual spring show has participation from 50 freshmen and sophomores. Viewing hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily and until noon Thursday.
More than 500 pieces of student work have been submitted in the general categories of interactive, photography, and layout and design. Judging will be completed Monday by local graphic arts professionals.
Individual projects include posters, advertising, branding, typography, packaging, book/magazine covers, photo illustrations, commercial photography, panoramics, portraits, depth of field, web pages, interactive animations, and digital illustrations such as logos, icons and production illustrations.
The BSC Commercial Art Program enrolls 32 freshmen every fall. Students complete a portfolio at the end of their sophomore year. Graduates can obtain entry-level jobs in the graphics industry and at print shops, advertising agencies, newspapers, magazines, and businesses. They also find work in web and interactive design and environmental design (signage and retail space).
