The Bismarck State College BookTalk series begins Jan. 5 with community discussions of three notable books on selected Sundays.
Now in its 15th years, BookTalk will explore the theme, "Light a Fire Within," inspired by the words of Victor Hugo – "To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark."
The selection for January is "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. Janelle Masters, BSC dean of academic affairs, will lead the discussion from 1 to 3 p.m. in the BSC Library.
BookTalk will continue Feb. 2 with "People of the Book" by Geraldine Brooks and March 2 with "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury.
Books for the series are available at local libraries and booksellers. Discussions are open to all. For more information, call 224-5450 or email BSC.Library@bismarckstate.edu.
BookTalk at BSC is funded by the BSC Library and a grant from the BSC Foundation.
